Carter's Lake Lodge, completed in the summer of 2002, is located in the private gated community of Lakeland Estates, just a little over an hour north of Atlanta in Gilmer County. Our new cabin homes may serve as your "base camp" for other local adventures, such as a day fishing or boating on Carter's Lake (the cabin borders the lake, just a short walk to the water's edge), or...you may want to enjoy a long, serene hike along the many available trails. You just might see wildlife, including deer and turkey, while taking in some of the most beautiful scenery in North Georgia.

Maybe a shopping spree is more your style. If so, then prowl the many antique stores of Ellijay and Blue Ridge, or go to the Tanger Outlet Malls in Dalton or North Georgia Premium Outlets near Dawsonville.

If these sound like more work than you are up to, just build a fire and cuddle up with a good book or that special person.

It is totally up to you.

 

From Atlanta, take I-75 North to I-575 North and continue on I-575 (I-575 will become 515 North) until you reach Ellijay.

At the first intersection in Ellijay you will see a Burger King and Wal-Mart on the right and a McDonald's on the left. Take a left at the light (this is Maddox Road but there is no street sign).

Go approximately 1 mile, through the four way stop sign. Maddox will dead end into 282, turn left.

Take 282 West out of Ellijay for approximately 11 miles

Turn left on Ridgeway Baptist Church Road and go about 3/4 of a mile.

Turn right on Lakeland and go about 1 mile.

Take a left on Hunter Ridge, you will pass through the property gates.

Stay to the left of the split in the road and go about 1 mile.

Turn right on Lake Forest.

Continue on Lake Forest approximately ¾ of a mile, turn left on Lakeside Trail, cabin is down the hill on the right.
